Personal Journey
After his annual health checkup in July of 2013, Brian was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Prostate Cancer, and three weeks later had emergency surgery called robotic prostatectomy. Two years later he underwent 38 bouts of high-grade radiation and is now cancer free.
His goal is to get men, especially Black men to go to the doctor annually to get checked because Black men are twice as likely to die from prostate cancer than White men. Secondly, he wants to help stop the stigma of prostate issues and inform men that it's not “an old man's disease” anymore.
Brian shares his journey through motivational speeches, community outreach and health related programming and partnerships.
