Maria Taylor is in her eighth season as a host analyst & reporter. In 2017, Taylor became the first black female to co-host College Game Day Built by The Home Depot. Taylor was also tabbed as the sideline reporter for ABC Saturday Night Football and patrolled the sidelines for the 2018 College Football Playoff and National Championship Game. Maria Taylor was named host of NBA Countdown, ESPN and ABC’s longstanding NBA pregame show, in October 2019. She will also have a significant role hosting NBA Playoffs editions of NBA Countdown across ESPN networks.
In 2015, Maria Co-Founded a non-profit organization called The Winning Edge Leadership Academy. The mission of the Winning Edge is to educate, foster professional mentoring relationships, provide networking opportunities and enrichment scholarships to ethnic minorities and women who are seeking careers in the sports industry. Since 2015, the academy has helped 16 students work towards job or internship placement and provided mentoring and funding for professional enrichment trips.
Michael Vick announced his retirement in early 2017 from the NFL after thirteen seasons electrifying fans and transforming the quarterback position. The former overall number one pick in the 2001 NFL Draft, to the Atlanta Falcons, made four Pro Bowl appearances over his professional football career. He holds the record for the most career rushing yards by a quarterback (6,109) and the most rushing yards by a quarterback in a season (1,039). The former Virginia Tech quarterback standout on the field career accomplishments include the NFL Comeback Player of the Year (2010), recipient of the Archie Griffin Award (1999), Big East Offensive Player of the Year (1999) and Big East Rookie of the Year (1999). He was inducted into the 2017 Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Fame.
Michael Vick has now turned his sights to the next chapter guiding young athletes and as a sports broadcaster. Vick joined FOX Sports as co-host of the FOX NFL Kickoff Show and as an in-studio NFL Analyst for other FS1 sports programming.
Natasha M. Scruggs Esq., founded The Scruggs Firm, LLC, in 2018. She has a passion for fighting for the human rights of her clients. She believes that each person should be provided excellent legal representation at affordable prices. She understands the gravity of the mass incarceration crisis in Missouri and the United States. As a prison abolitionist, she approaches each criminal case considering the factors facilitating this system. She uses a similar holistic approach when fighting for the rights of her personal injury and estate planning clients. Natasha has built her practice one client at a time. She currently has two locations and is still growing. She aims to be the voice of the silent and the strength of the weak.
As a social justice advisor for athletes, attorney Scruggs founded QonnectUs, an initiative and program aimed to help professional athletes navigate the complexity of social justice issues to develop comprehensive programs that help elevate their communities where they play and live.
Kenny Selmon, an Atlanta native, Pace Academy Alum (2014) and now a 2021 Olympian, will be representing the United States in the Men's 400M Hurdles in Tokyo, Japan this summer. Selmon, a decorated American Track and Field athlete, became a National Champion when he won the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championship in 2018. Later that summer he represented the United States at the 2018 Athletics World Cup in London, where he won gold in the 400 meters hurdles. Selmon attended college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he competed in indoor and outdoor track and field. While at UNC, Selmon qualified for four NCAA East Preliminary Rounds and five NCAA Championships while collecting five All-America accolades, 10 AII-ACC honors and six spots in the UNC top-five all-time records. His college personal record of 48.12, which he ran at the NCAA Division I Championships in 2018, is the fastest in UNC history. To cap off his illustrious collegiate career on and off the track, UNC honored Selmon with the Patterson Medal, the highest honor UNC gives to any athlete.
This June, after three grueling rounds and a personal best in the final, he qualified for the 2021 U.S. Olympic team in the 400m hurdles and is headed to Tokyo!
